Jingmen Yiwei Chuangneng Lithium Battery Co., Ltd. was established on September 29, 2017. The company’s business scope includes the production, sales, and related technical research and development, technical consulting, technical services, import and export of lithium primary batteries, lithium-ion batteries, power battery systems and battery management systems, and lithium battery energy storage systems.
According to an announcement by Yiwei Lithium Energy, the company plans to sign a “Contract” with the Jingmen High-tech Zone Management Committee to invest in and construct a 20GWh cylindrical battery production line for passenger vehicles and auxiliary facilities projects, as well as a 16GWh square lithium iron phosphate battery production line and auxiliary facilities projects in the Jingmen High-tech Zone. The total fixed asset investment of the investment projects is approximately 6.2 billion yuan.
Yiwei Lithium Energy stated that this investment is beneficial for both parties to fully leverage their respective resources and advantages, expand the production capacity of power storage batteries, optimize the company’s industrial structure, provide more products and solutions to customers, further promote the company’s development in the lithium-ion power battery market, and enhance the company’s influence and comprehensive competitiveness in the new energy industry.
Battery Network noted that on November 4th, Yiwei Lithium Energy had already signed a “Strategic Investment Agreement” with the Jingmen High-tech Zone Management Committee, planning to invest a total of 30.521 billion yuan through its subsidiary registered in Duodao District, Jingmen City, for the construction of a lithium battery and system research and development production base with an annual output of 152.61GWh.
According to a research report released by Dongguan Securities, with the continuous release of new production capacity since the beginning of this year, the company’s power battery shipment scale has grown significantly. Benefiting from the volume increase in the power battery business, Yiwei Lithium Energy achieved substantial growth in performance in the first three quarters of 2021. The revenue in the first three quarters of 2021 reached 11.448 billion yuan, an increase of 114.39% year-on-year, and the net profit attributable to shareholders was 2.216 billion yuan, an increase of 134.18% year-on-year. Among them, the revenue from power batteries reached 6.7 billion yuan, accounting for about 60% of the total. In terms of power storage battery business, besides commercial vehicles, the company is expected to officially enter the passenger vehicle field in the fourth quarter and has obtained several key projects from major customers in the 5G communication and wind-solar energy storage fields. It is expected that there will be significant additional capacity release next year.
