The official website of Shanghai Songjiang Vibration Absorber Group Co., Ltd. introduces the installation instructions for Shanghai Songjiang Corrugated Compensator. Songjiang Group provides high-quality corrugated compensator products for numerous projects. Below are the installation instructions for corrugated compensators, hoping to assist you in the installation process.
Installation Requirements for Corrugated Compensators:
1. Before installation, ensure that the model, specifications, and support configuration of the corrugated compensator meet the design requirements.
2. For compensators with inner lining tubes, ensure that the direction of the inner lining tube aligns with the flow direction of the medium (install according to the flow direction mark on the compensator). The rotation screen of the flat angle type compensator should be consistent with the displacement plane.
3. For compensators that require “cold tightening,” auxiliary components used for pre-deformation should be removed after pre-deformation of the compensator.
4. Adjust to the specified size using screws and nuts before installation. After the pipeline installation is completed, immediately remove the auxiliary positioning mechanisms and fasteners used for installation and transportation protection on the compensator.
5. Apart from pre-tensioning or “cold tightening” as per design requirements, it is strictly prohibited to adjust the installation deviation of the pipeline by deforming the bellows, as it may affect the normal function of the compensator, reducing its service life, and increasing the load on the pipeline, equipment, and support components.
6. All movable components of the compensator must not be jammed or restricted in their normal movement by external components.
7. During installation, welding spatter is not allowed to fly onto the surface of the corrugated pipe or cause other mechanical damage to the corrugated pipe.
8. During hydraulic testing, reinforce the secondary fixed pipe rack at the end of the pipeline with the compensator to prevent the pipeline from moving or rotating. For compensators and connecting pipelines used for gas media, temporary supports may be added to the connecting pipes for load-bearing during hydrostatic testing.
9. The water used for hydraulic testing must be clean, non-corrosive, and the chloride ion content in the water should not exceed 25 ppm. After hydraulic testing, drain the accumulated water in the bellows as soon as possible and quickly dry the inner surface of the bellows.
10. The pipeline should have good neutrality. If there is no other method to ensure this, the compensator can be installed after laying the straight pipe and cutting it to the same length.
11. It should be noted that the compensator does not absorb torque. Therefore, the compensator should not be allowed to twist during installation.
12. The insulation layer should be applied on the outer protective cover of the compensator, not directly on the bellows. Chlorine-containing insulation materials should not be used.
13. Pipeline supports must meet the design requirements. Hydraulic testing inside the pipeline is strictly prohibited before the supports are properly installed to avoid damaging the compensator.
14. The compensator allows a hydraulic test pressure not exceeding 1.5 times the nominal system pressure.
15. During operation, gradually open and close the valves of pipelines equipped with compensators to prevent rapid changes in temperature and pressure inside the pipeline, which may cause damage to supports or compensators.
16. It is strictly prohibited to use compensator deformation to adjust the installation deviation of the pipeline.
